Imported by the Genoese from the Far East, turnips quickly established themselves in our gastronomic tradition thanks to their flavor and versatility in the kitchen.
The bitterness of the turnip tops from the Salento fields, the spiciness of the “Tiaulicchiu” chili pepper, combined with a touch of real extra virgin olive oil, create an irresistible harmony of flavors, making our preserve so traditional that, more than any other, it is the foundation of popular Apulian cuisine.
Paired with grilled meat it becomes the perfect side dish.
