Called "Cucunci" in Sicilian dialect, they are the fruit generated after the flowering of the caper.
With a fleshy pulp, a strong and pungent flavour, and a characteristic and pleasant crunchiness due to the presence of small seeds inside them, they are particularly suitable for being served as a tasty aperitif but also enhance fish or meat-based dishes.
The small stem that allows them to be picked up easily allows diners not to get their hands dirty.
