According to a legend from Puglia, they were born from a mother's need to feed her son during a time of famine because they were easy to prepare and made from humble raw materials.
Over the years, taralli have become typical of southern Italy and are prepared in a variety of ways and flavors.
Made with simple, authentic ingredients typical of the Apulian tradition, they are ideal for an aperitif or as an appetizer, but they can also be nibbled as a fun energy snack for the little ones.
